Knowledge Network

Knowledge Network, also branded as British Columbia's Knowledge Network, is a Canadian publicly funded educational cable television network serving the province of British Columbia.

Projects: Design Tablet App and Redesign Mobile App

Role: UI/UX and Visual Designer

Brief: I was tasked with redesigning their current mobile TV streaming app and designing a Tablet app.

Challenge: The main challenge was to adhere to strict branding guidelines while creating a familiar but improved user experience between all platforms of TV streaming that Knowledge Network offers.

Solution: The solution was to work extensively on the IA portion of the project by looking at competing apps and collaborating with other designers in the department handling different platforms.

Tasks performed:

  • Researched and conducted a competitive analysis for the design of the Knowledge App

  • Communicated and worked alongside different departments at Knowledge Network

  • Designed the IA for Knowledge Network’s TV streaming app

  • Visually designed the UI and made graphic mockups for both mobile and tablet devices

  • Developed and presented Keynote presentations for department meetings
